Section 39 of the Land Use and Spatial Planning Act 925 established the District Technical Sub-Committee to prepare local plans, Structure plans, Spatial Development Framework and to make recommendations to the District Spatial Planning Committee to approve any of the items, documents or matters required to be approved under this Act.

As a result, the Technical Sub-Committee met on the 15Th of February, 2024 to deliberate over development permit applications received and three Local Plans (Jamera and Kaabere) led in preparation by the Physical Planning Department. These are all done to ensure the sustainable development of human settlements and to promote the judicious use of land.
