Jaman North District Assembly Holds Staff Durbar to Promote Unity, Discipline and Productivity

The Jaman North District Assembly on Thursday, 21st May 2026, held a Staff Durbar at the Old Church Auditorium of the Sampa Roman Catholic Church to provide staff with the opportunity to openly discuss issues affecting their work and contribute ideas towards the smooth running of the Assembly.
The durbar was chaired by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Adane George, and attended by the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Mr. Alfred Lumor, Heads of Departments and Units, as well as staff of the Assembly.
In his address, the District Coordinating Director emphasized the importance of punctuality and commitment to duty. He reminded staff that official reporting time to work is between 8:00am and 8:30am and urged all staff to give off their best towards the development and upliftment of the District.

Mr. Alfred Lumor also spoke extensively on staff appraisals, stressing that appraisals are not only important for promotions but also serve as an important tool for assessing staff performance and commitment. He cautioned staff to submit their appraisal forms promptly, indicating that delays could affect future promotion considerations.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Adane George commended the staff for their continuous hard work, dedication, and support throughout the first year of his administration. He expressed appreciation to all staff for honoring the durbar and encouraged them to continue working diligently in the interest of the District.
The DCE further cautioned staff against leaking official information to outsiders, describing such acts as unprofessional and unacceptable. He emphasized that any staff found engaging in such conduct would face serious sanctions. He also urged staff to remain professional in the discharge of their duties and separate politics from administrative work.
As part of the durbar, the floor was opened for staff to ask questions and raise concerns affecting their work. Various issues were discussed, with some receiving immediate responses while others were noted by management for further action.

A major highlight of the event was the recognition of Mr. Rawuth Kassimu, a Controller at the Accounts Department, who was recently awarded the Regional Best Worker for the Bono Region by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department. The Assembly congratulated him for bringing honour to the District and presented him with an award in appreciation of his outstanding achievement.

The Staff Durbar formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to promoting effective communication, teamwork, accountability, and improved service delivery within the District.
