HON. SOLOMON OWUSU HONOURS INVITATION TO THE 2023 EDITION OF JAMAN NORTH DISTRICT INTER CIRCUIT CULTURAL FESTIVAL

In a recent event, students from different cultural backgrounds came together to showcase their diverse heritage through a cultural display. The event was held at a Goka under the theme “Amamere de Mpontu Ba” which mean “Culture Brings About Development” and was attended by a large number of people.
The students, who represented various basic school and cultures, wore traditional clothing and performed dances and songs that reflected their unique customs and traditions. The audience was treated to a colorful and vibrant display of cultural diversity, with each performance highlighting the rich history and traditions of the Ghanaian people and for that matter people in the Jaman North District.
The District Chief Executive officer, Hon. Solomon Owusu graced the occasion with a keynote address, highlighting on the need to cherish and follow the Ghanaian rich culture in order to bring about development.
In Arts and Culture challenge us with different points of view, compelling us to share ideas about our values as one people with a common destiny.

Below are the key highlights of the speech by Hon. Solomon Owusu (District Chief Executive)
Mr. Chairman, in all aspects of our national development, there is the need to pay a critical attention to how Arts and Culture impact our society through education.
Mr. Chairman, I believe the vision to inculcate the spirit of nationalism and belongingness among Ghanaian Youth through meaningful cultural education can only be achieved through event like what we are witnessing today.

Mr. Chairman, may I therefore take this opportunity to acknowledge with pride the presence of our high level dignitaries of this community who are here to grace this occasion.
The aim of education, formally or informally among others, is to train our children to live in harmony with one another. This involves physical, moral and mental training for the children to become useful citizens in the society and the country as a whole. Arts and Culture as embedded in our education curriculum must be further strengthened and given more attention if we want to accelerate our development agenda as a nation.
The Distinguished personalities assembled here today are not just here to grace this occasion but I believe they were carefully selected and invited for our children to see them as role models.
It is important to mention also that parents are major stakeholders in the upbringing, education and overall development of their children.
On this note Mr. Chairman, I want to conclude by commending the organizers of this programme and to urge them to continue with the good work which is geared towards the development of Goka Community and the District as a whole.
Thank you and may God Bless Us All.
