Hon. George Adane Embarks on Project Inspection Tour Across Jaman North District

Tuesday, August 5, 2025 – As part of efforts to ensure value for money and improve transparency and accountability in the execution of public projects, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Jaman North, Hon. George Adane , undertook a comprehensive site inspection tour of several ongoing infrastructure projects across the district.
The tour focused mainly on bridge construction projects at Kokosua, Mayera, and Kokoa, all awarded to the same contractor called Jowalisa Company Limited. These projects, strategically located across key communities, aim to improve transportation and accessibility, particularly during the rainy season.
Inspection of Kokosua Nsonsomea Culvert Bridge
Hon. George Adane began his tour at Kokosua Nsonsomea road, where a culvert bridge is being constructed over a River called Krupia—a river that has historically posed significant challenges to commuters during heavy rains. The bridge, currently about 85% complete, is already bringing hope to residents who have long struggled with poor road conditions during the wet season.
The DCE commended the contractor for the swift pace of work and adherence to quality standards. He also acknowledged the positive impact the project has had on local employment, noting that the contractor has engaged residents from nearby communities, thereby creating jobs and stimulating the local economy.

Progress at Mayera and Kokoa Bridge Sites
The DCE continued to Mayera and Kokoa, where similar bridge construction works by Jowalisa Company Limited have already been completed. These projects, now in use, are easing movement and contributing to the socio-economic development of the communities.

Inspection of Stalled Projects in Duadaso
Hon. George Adane also visited Duadaso, where he inspected two stalled projects:
- A maternity block at the Duadaso Health Centre
- A six-unit classroom block at SDA Primary School
He assured residents that the Assembly is actively working to secure funds to resume and complete the projects, which are crucial for improving health and education services in the area.

Buko D/A Primary School Project Completed
The inspection tour concluded at Buko, where a newly constructed school building for Buko D/A Primary has been fully completed and is ready for use. The DCE expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and emphasized the importance of providing safe and conducive learning environments for children.

DCE’s Final Remarks
The DCE reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to monitoring development projects to ensure they meet quality standards and are delivered within budget and timelines. He also encouraged contractors to continue collaborating with local communities to boost employment and ensure sustainability.
