Hon. Adane George Concludes His Familiarization Tour with Key Visit to Atuoni Royal Palace, Suma-Ahenkro

Suma-Ahenkro, Monday, 26th May 2025 – The newly appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Jaman North, Hon. Adane George, wrapped up his district-wide familiarization tour with a significant visit to the Atuoni Palace in Suma-Ahenkro. The tour, which took him to various communities, culminated in a high-profile courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Suma Traditional Area, Nana Odeneho Dr. Afram Brempong III.
The visit, which marked the end of Hon. Adane George’s introductory engagements, was attended by key stakeholders, including the Member of Parliament for Jaman North, Hon. Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick, the District Coordinating Director, heads of departments, Assembly staff, and NDC constituency executives.

Reflecting on his tour, the DCE expressed gratitude to the people of Jaman North for their warm reception and support during the 2024 elections. “The power to govern comes from you, the people, and I am humbled by the trust you have placed in us,” he said. He sought the guidance of Nananom, emphasizing their indispensable role in fostering development and unity.
Traditional Leaders Urge Inclusive Governance
Before the Omanhene’s address, some sub-chiefs shared their expectations with the DCE. Key among their concerns was the need for impartial leadership. “You must rise above partisan politics and serve all citizens equally,” one chief advised.
Nana Odeneho Dr. Afram Brempong III, who also serves as the Bono Regional Representative on the Council of State, congratulated Hon. Adane George on his successful confirmation and commended the NDC and MP for their electoral victory. However, he reminded the DCE of the importance of respecting traditional authority, referencing past tensions with his predecessor.

The Omanhene noted that with both the DCE and MP belonging to the ruling party, the district has a unique opportunity for accelerated development. “There should be no excuses now. As a member of the Council of State, I will support your efforts to bring progress to Jaman North,” he assured. He also cautioned the DCE against taking sides in chieftaincy disputes, urging neutrality and fairness.
Hon. Adane George’s Assurance: A New Chapter of Respect and Progress
In his response, the DCE invoked a thought-provoking Akan proverb: “Dua a Ananse adi awuo no, ntikuma ntena ase nto nko” (The tree under which the spider died is not a place for its offspring to rest). He pledged to learn from past mistakes and foster a culture of respect and collaboration.

“I will not disrespect Nananom or any citizen. My door will always be open, and my leadership will be one of unity and service,” he declared. He promised to prioritize the needs of the people and work closely with all stakeholders to drive development.
A Hopeful Conclusion
The visit ended on a positive note, with mutual commitments to peace and progress. The DCE’s humility and willingness to engage with traditional leaders and community members left a lasting impression.

As Hon. Adane George concludes his familiarization tour, the people of Jaman North look forward to a tenure marked by inclusive governance, respect for tradition, and tangible development.
