Community Clean-Up Exercise Held at Tulo and Sampa Newtown to Promote Environmental Health 

A successful communal labor initiative was organized by the Assembly Members for Tulo and New Town Electoral Areas in collaboration with the Environmental Health Unit of the Jaman North District Assembly. The clean-up exercise, held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Tulokato and Newtown brought together residents and stakeholders to tidy up the community and promote a healthier environment.  The event saw the participation of well-meaning individuals from both electoral areas, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and preventing environmental health-related diseases. Volunteers cleared choked gutters, swept streets, and disposed of waste properly to enhance sanitation in the area.

The District Environmental Health Director, Mr. Abdallah Mahama, graced the occasion and commended the efforts of the community members. In his address, he emphasized the importance of regular clean-up exercises in preventing outbreaks of diseases such as cholera and malaria.  “A clean environment is a healthy environment. This initiative is a step in the right direction, and I urge all residents to sustain the momentum by keeping their surroundings clean at all times,” Mr. Manaham stated.

The Assembly Members for Tulo and New Town assured the community that such exercises would be held periodically to ensure continuous cleanliness. They also encouraged households to adopt proper waste management practices to complement these efforts. 

The Jaman North District Assembly remains committed to promoting environmental health and sanitation across the district. Residents are encouraged to support future initiatives to create a cleaner, safer, and healthier community.
